Background
Information and Contacts for
Proposed
Ohio Ethanol Facilities as of March 2004
Dwayne
Siekman, Executive Director,
Ohio
Corn Growers Association
Northwest
Ethanol
This
farmer led group is one of the original projects that
sprouted up from the study conducted by the Ohio Corn
Marketing Program.
The plant will be strategically
located in northwest Ohio, providing additional outlets
for
grain grown in the local Ohio market.
-
Specific site to be located
near Hicksville, Defiance County.
The grain processing plant
will produce ethanol, high protein animal feed and CO2.
There
is an active and existing market
for all three products in Ohio and surrounding states.
-
The NWE Development, LLC
plant will convert as much as 20 million
bushels of corn annually
into well over 50 million gallons of ethanol.
-
Corn usage in this facility
will expand existing markets for corn in the
region.
This size plant will put
NWE Development, LLC in the top 15 of the over 70 ethanol
plants
in the country, but will be far short
of reaching the anticipated ethanol demand of the north-
east.
NWE Development, LLC will
essentially be the most eastern ethanol facility making
it
ideally situated to serve the significant
ethanol demand of Ohio and the Northeast. This
increased market demand is a result
of the national movement to more environmentally
sound oxygen and octane additives.
Dried distillers grain is
a high quality; high protein feed ingredient that has
strong demand
in the dairy and other livestock
industries.
NWE
Development, LLC will create 35 to 40 skilled jobs and
will add over $85 million per year direct revenue to
the local economy, plus the expected revenue enhancement
as this money generates more trade in the Ohio area.

Farmers
Ethanol
Mission
Statement: To create an economically sustainable, socially
beneficial, environmentally responsible agricultural
development in rural Ohio that uses an integrated approach
to resource management for the economic and social betterment
of Ohio's farmers, rural communities, and citizens.
Will produce Ethanol from
Corn (15 million gallon plants)
Utilize state-of-the-art
technology to develop innovative revenue streams, and
build for the
long-term versus lowest cost components.
Optimize co-product value:
-
capture, process and sell
all CO2.
-
de-germ corn prior to
fermentation to get corn oil as a revenue stream.
-
produce high quality distiller's
grains that have value in multiple animal
species as a high-protein, high-fiber
feed ingredient.
Build completely covered
feedlot and dairy facilities to:
-
generate animal and milk
revenue streams.
-
utilize distiller's grains
to add value to Ohio cattle.
-
protect and preserve our
environment by keeping rain and surface water
separate from animal waste.
-
Complete management of
urine, manure and rain water
Use patented anaerobic digester
fermentation technology
-
to capture animal waste
and produce biogas methane
-
liquid N-P-K fertilizer
stream,
-
clean recyclable water,
-
nearly pathogen free biomass
fiber which resembles peat moss
-
Renewable methane gas
for “green” electrical energy output

West
Central Ohio
WCO
has been concentrated on the development of a 100 million
gallon wet mill facility. Reports two weeks ago indicated
that the Preble, Darke or Mercer counties were potential
locations for this facility. Still very early in the
process for WCO. Indications are that they envision
this to be a facility that is majority owned by farmers.
Nordic
Energy
Announced
a 50 million gallon dry mill ethanol facility in Coshocton.
