    Join OSU Extension for an in-person small grains field day on June 22 at the Northwest Agricultural Research Station in Wood County. Topics include high input wheat, winter malting barley management, specialty small grains (spring small grains, spelt, hard wheat, and more!), weed control, and double-crop opportunities.     As many producers are getting ready to side-dress corn, the agronomic crops team will host a free webinar on June 10th focused on important considerations and practices to achieve the efficient application of nitrogen. The webinar will be the first session of a new series called  CORN Live which will be offered throughout the growing season to address timely issues related to agronomic crop production and management as they emerge.

    Join OSU Extension for a webinar focused on drainage design, installation, and management including updates on on recently passed H.B. 340 – Ohio’s “petition ditch laws” that address the installation and maintenance of drainage works of improvement in Ohio. A panel of professional engineers representing state and federal agencies, drainage contractors, and tile manufacturers will discuss some standard practices, common issues, and troubleshooting associated with drainage design, installation, and repairs. 2021 Overholt Drainage Workshop

  5. May 19, 2021, 7:00pm - 10:00pm

    Do you apply fertilizer to more than 50 acres of land?  If so, the Ohio Department of Agriculture requires applicators to obtain a Fertilizer Certificate.  The Tuscarawas and Coshocton County offices of Ohio State University Extension will sponsor a training at 7pm on Wednesday, May 19.  The training will be held at the Sugarcreek Stockyards, 102 Buckeye St., Sugarcreek, Ohio.  This three-hour class is for those wishing to obtain a fertilizer certificate and will review laws, water quality, soil sampling & analysis, and nitrogen and phosphorus management.

    CTC 2021 will be Virtual The annual Conservation Tillage & Technology Conference in March 2021 will be virtual. Instead of the usual 2-day conference at Ada, Ohio, CTC 2021 will be held on FOUR days, March 9-12 (Tuesday-Friday). We’ll have 5 hours of content each day on these topics:  Tuesday-Crop Management;  Wednesday-Nutrient Management;  Thursday-Pest Management;  and Friday-Soil & Water Management. Each day will start at 8:00 a.m., and with breaks, finish about 2:00 p.m.
