    Due to stress in the supply chain and other unforeseen circumstances, we are not able to present the Jan 19 in-person portion of Precision University to the caliber that our clientele would expect. Therefore, we have cancelled that day and hope to resume our in-person event in 2023. Webinars will continue on Jan 5 and 12 as scheduled.  

  2. Jan 14, 2022, 8:00am - 2:45pm

    The annual Northwest Ohio Corn & Soybean Day is scheduled for Friday, January 14 in Founders Hall at Sauder Village in Archbold from 8:00 am to 2:45 pm. The program has a variety of speakers, farmer/retailer re-certification credits and 30 exhibitors sharing information on management practices for the 2022 crop production season. 

  3. Jan 13, 2022, 7:30am - 9:00am

    On January 13, the program will feature Horacio Lopez-Nicora, Ohio State University Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology and OSU Extension Soybean Disease Specialist. Lopez-Nicora will give a brief overview of soybean diseases that infest local crop fields and steps producers can do to help prevent their occurrence and how to manage them if they are present. He will also discuss Soybean Cyst Nematode testing and management to prevent yield loss. This pest is often unknown in soybean fields as it is not visible, however reduces yield performance if present in large enough numbers.

  4. Jan 12, 2022 through Jan 13, 2022, 9:00am - 5:00pm

    Ohio State University Extension is offering exam preparation classes for individuals looking to take the Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) exam. Two options are available for 2022 to meet your needs – online and in-person. Both options will provide training for the CCA performance objectives. This class is also great for those looking to learn more about agronomy. The in-person training will take place on January 12-13, 2022 at the Shelby County Ag Building.

  5. Jan 12, 2022, 9:00am - 10:00am

    Some have seen responses to sulfur application while others have not. Dr. Shaun Casteel, Purdue University, and Dr. Steve Culman, The Ohio State University, will share results from their on-farm sulfur research. Dr. John Fulton, The Ohio State University, will also discuss recent research on sulfur and share tips for conducting your own on-farm research to determine if sulfur is a limiting factor on your farm.

    C.O.R.N. Live is back as we anticipate the 2021 Farm Science Review. Nate Douridas, Farm Manager of the Molly Caren Ag Center, site of the Farm Science Review, will give an update on harvest as they begin to open fields for field demonstrations. He will give us an early look at yields and moisture and what to expect during the field demonstrations this year. Then join us for a walk through the Agronomic Crops Plots. These plots demonstrate research conducted on farms around the state and offer CCA credit opportunities during the show.

    Ohio State University Extension and the Ohio AgriBusiness Association will again partner to hold the Farm Science Review Agronomy College on Sept. 14.
