    Dr. John Fulton, Ohio State University Extension Precision Ag Specialist, will discuss new advancements in technology across all aspects of farming. Youth are invited to participate in a robotics program. Dinner will be provided at 5:30 and the program runs from 6-8pm. See flyer for registration details.

    The Tuscarawas County office of Ohio State University Extension will sponsor an agronomy update on Friday, March 15.  The meeting will be held at 1pm at the Village of Tuscarawas Community Center, 222 E. Cherry Street, Tuscarawas.

    Interested in growing cover crops or trying different mixes? Join other farmers on March 14 for an informal visit to view what 8 different mixes of cover crops did over the winter and how they look before planting. The cover crops were planted after a sweet corn crop late last summer and produced a lot of growth. Some were winter kill species while a few are still growing.

    The Ohio State Digital Ag team is hosting four regional eFields meetings this month. Join us to learn more about the eFields program and results we are seeing across the state. Each meeting will feature presentations highlighting local trials including seeding rate, nutrient management, and crop management. There will be a panel discussion featuring cooperating farmers who are conducting on-farm research with Ohio State Extension. We would also like to hear from you about what topics you are interested in seeing in eFields in the future.

    This past crop season was a good year for soybean production across the state.  The weather cooperated and yields were high.  However with the lower soybean prices, intensive management practices become more important to produce a successful crop.  Several OSU Extension state specialists will be spending the day on Thursday, February 21 in Hardin County to share information with farmers in a small group hands-on workshop being held at the OSU Extension office, 1021 W Lima Street in Kenton.  The workshop will begin at 9:00 am and conclude by 3:30 pm.  This soybean workshop is open to soybean
