    To help put a stop to waterhemp, Ohio State University Extension is hosting a program entitled: West Central Ohio Weed Science Day. This meeting will be held January 19, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at The Palazzo in Botkins (309 S. Main St.), Ohio. Topics that will be presented include the Current Weed Situation, Weed Identification, Herbicide Site of Action, Biology and Management of Waterhemp, Dicamba soybean, management of non-GMO corn and soybean, and Management of giant ragweed and marestail.

    Program will demonstrate MapWindow GIS & MMP Tools, MMP software and Ohio Nutrient Management Templates as approved tools for development of Fertilizer Only or Precision Fertilizer Only Nutrient Management Plans for NRCS programs such as EQUIP.

    Program includes a range of topics on current agronomic topics plus credit offered for both pesticide and fertilizer recertification. Supper and Marketing Update at 5:00pm Program begins at 5:30p; ends at 11:00pm Private Pesticide Applicator Recertification Training:  Core, Categories 1, 2, and 6 Fertilizer Applicator Recertification Training (1 hour for those already holding a Fertilizer Applicator’s Certification)

    The Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) Exam Training program, sponsored and delivered by the OSU Agronomic Crops Team, will be offered at the Shelby County Extension Office, 810 Fair Rd, Sidney, Ohio 45365 on January 10 & 11, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m. on the 10th and adjourn by 5:00 p.m. on the 11th.
