There is no cost to attend, and everyone is welcome to join.

    Ray Archuleta has spent his career researching and teaching soil health. He is a Certified Professional Soil Scientist who has over 30 years of experience as a soil conservationist, water quality specialist and conservation agronomist with the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). Since retiring, he founded Understanding Ag, LLC and the Soil Health Academy, LLC. Through these organizations, he teaches biomimicry strategies and agroecology principles to improve soil function. He also operates a 150-acre farm with his family in Missouri.

    Join OSU Extension’s Water Quality Associates on Tuesday, February 22nd from 10-11AM for a public input meeting regarding on-farm conservation practices. This webinar is aimed toward farmers in the Western Lake Erie Basin who farm or live near our target watersheds, found on the attached flier. This virtual webinar will allow OSU’s Water Quality team to hear directly from farmers and landowners to guide local watershed planning efforts and funding priorities.     With regard for the concerns for input shortages, this program will take a comprehensive look at maximizing multiple aspects of row crop profitability, including soybeans. We’ll focus on the effective use of appropriate amounts of fertilizer, and correctly choosing and applying pesticides. Participants will receive a copy of the new Tri-State Fertilizer Recommendations.
