Xyway Fungicide

Xyway® LFR® is a systemic soil applied fungicide that is absorbed by the roots and then translocated through the vascular system in the plant. The active ingredient of Xyway is flutriafol, a FRAC Group 3 demethylation inhibitor (DMI). In field corn, it is labelled for control of gray leaf spot, southern corn leaf blight, northern corn leaf blight, and common rust; and for suppression of anthracnose stalk rot, fusarium stalk and crown rot, physoderma brown spot, head smut, and tar spot.

These plots are comparing resistant and susceptible corn hybrids with and/or without an at-plant (2x2) application of Xyway.

Current research at the Northwest Agricultural Researc Station in Custar (Wood County) is evaluating the following treatments to better understand the effect of Xyway of corn health and grain yield:

  1. Untreated Control
  2. Xyway Applied at Planting (2x2)
  3. Xyway Applied at Sidedress
  4. V5 Foliar Fungicide Application
  5. VT/R1 Foliar Fungicide Application
  6. Xyway Applied at Planting (2x2) + V5 Foliar Fungicide Application
  7. Xyway Applied at Planting (2x2) + VT/R1 Foliar Fungicide Application
