Join OSU Extension for Monthly Cover Crops Roundtables!

Cover crops

Are you looking to start growing cover crops? Have you been utilizing them for years? Growers of all experience levels are invited to join OSU Extension Paulding, Wood, and Auglaize County for a monthly informal meeting series focused on cover crops. This series will be a place for producers to network, share ideas, and problem solve with one another about the benefits and issues that utilizing cover crops can bring. All roundtables are hosted from 6:30-8:00PM, with Paulding County meetings on Tuesdays, Wood County meetings on Wednesdays, and Auglaize County meetings on Thursdays. Each date will be a standalone topic, so attendance of all dates is not required. Topics will be determined prior to each month’s meeting to allow for timely selection of issues. This series will not include sales presentations. These meetings are free of charge, and a light snack will be provided.

Wood County will be hosting its next roundtable meeting on Wednesday, April 3rd from 6:30-8:00PM. The topic of this roundtable will be Nitrogen and cover crops. To register for this meeting, visit go.osu.edu/covercrops2024. Wood County will break for the summer, and roundtable meetings will resume on November 6th and December 4th, 2024. Meetings will be held at the OSU Extension Wood County Office at 639 S. Dunbridge Rd., Bowling Green OH.

Auglaize County will be hosting its next roundtable meeting on Thursday, April 4th from 6:30-8:00PM. The topic for this meeting will be determined prior to the meeting date. To register for this meeting, visit go.osu.edu/ccrtaug24. A short break will occur after the April meeting, with future meetings being held on the following dates: 8/8, 9/5, 10/3, 11/7, and 12/5. Meetings will be held at the Auglaize County Extension Office, 208 S. Blackhoof St., Wapakoneta OH.

Paulding County will be hosting its next roundtable meeting on Tuesday, April 9th from 6:30-8:00PM. Guest speakers Brian McAfee and Jeff Sangalli from Monty’s Plant Food will present during this meeting, focusing on humic and fulvic acids. They will discuss what these products are, how they interact with soil biology and crop physiology, and what benefits they can potentially provide to growers. To register for this meeting, visit go.osu.edu/Roundtable2024. Future dates at this location are as follows: 5/7, 6/4, 7/23, 8/13, 9/10, 10/8, 11/19, and 12/3.
