Help Us Understand & Overcome Potential Cover Crop Yield Penalties by Participating in a Grower Survey

Cover Crops in Corn Stubble

We invite farmers in the Maumee River Watershed to complete this 15-minute survey at https://osu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_a9K8fVr1oXpv1vU to help us better understand the benefits and tradeoffs associated with integrating cover crops into corn-soybean rotations.

This information will serve as ground-truth data for developing a model that uses remote sensing to quantify cover crop effects on cash crop yield, carbon sequestration, and greenhouse gas emissions at the watershed scale. This research project is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture. Our team is in the second year of collecting field measurements in the region.

Results will be shared in the future through Ohio State University Extension programming. No individual farms will be identified in survey responses; all survey response information will be aggregated and anonymous.

Questions about the survey can be directed to Dr. Sami Khanal, Associate Professor in the Department of Food, Agricultural, Biological, and Environmental Engineering at The Ohio State University, at khanal.3@osu.edu or 614-688-2347.
