Lep Monitoring Network – Fall armyworm, Last Update # 23

Fall Army Worm Moths

Final Fall Armyworm Update

We have reached our 23rd and final week of monitoring moth pests in Ohio! It’s hard to believe this is our last Lep update for the 2025 field season! Thank you to all of our monitors over the past 6 months – without your contributions we would not be able to keep Ohio Farmers informed of current Lep pests that may impact agronomic crops. Also, thank you to our readers for sticking around for all of our updates!

With that being said – this monitoring period covered September 22nd through the 28th and 11 counties monitored FAW. Over the past week FAW numbers remained somewhat low in the majority of monitoring counties – with a few locations seeing an increase in numbers. Counties with the highest averages included Hancock (30.0) and Morgan (20.0) The statewide average decreased again from 13.4 moths down to 7.1.
