Variety Performance Trials

The purpose of the Ohio Soybean Performance Trials is to provide an unbiased evaluation of variety characteristics and performance to facilitate the selection of varieties appropriate for particular production sites and systems. Field trials are conducted at six locations representing the diverse production regions of Ohio. Data are collected on yield, lodging, seed size, plant height, and grain quality (oil, protein, and fiber content). The data for approximately 200 entries are published each December as a supplement in Ohio’s Country Journal, Ohio Soybean Performance Trials.
