    Join OSU Extension on March 9th as we present a hands-on, intensive soybean management workshop for Ohio Crop Producers that will help you become a more profitable soybean producer. This workshop will feature Dr. Laura Lindsey, Soybean/Wheat Extension Specialist; Dr. Kelley Tilmon Field Crop Extension Entomologist; Dr. Steve Culman, Soil Fertility Extension Specialist, and Dr. Anne Dorrance, Field Crop Extension Pathologist.

  3. Corn, Soybean, Wheat Webinars Continue

    The second in a series of four webinars available to producers, Certified Crop Advisors and industry will be offered on January 31, 2017 beginning at 7 p.m. The webinar will focus on how to assess growing conditions and their impact on ear rots, mycotoxins and malformation in corn. The session will be taught by Dr. Peter Thomison, State Corn Production Specialist, OSU Extension and Dr. Pierce Paul, State Corn and Wheat Disease Specialist, OSU Extension.

  4. 2017 Ohio Forage and Grasslands Council Conference

    The Ohio Forages and Grasslands Council Annual Conference will be held February 3, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Ohio Department of Agriculture in Reynoldsburg, OH. The program theme is “High Quality Forages.” The keynote speaker will be Dr. Kim Cassida, Forage Extension Specialist at Michigan State University, who will discuss “Managing Grass-Legume Mixtures” based on extensive research and experience in Michigan and her prior work in West Virginia.   5. Northern Ohio Crops Day February 2nd

    The annual Northern Ohio Crops Day will be held on February 2, 2017 at Ole Zim’s Wagon Shed, 1375 N. St. Rt. 590, Gibsonburg, Ohio.  Registration is requested by January 27 by calling Al Gahler at 419-334-6340 or email at gahler.2@osu.edu.

  6. FSR Nutrient Management Field Day – September 14

    The FSR Nutrient Management Field Day is September 14th. We will make use of the site and facilities of the Farm Science Review’s Molly Caren Agricultural Center, near London Ohio the week before that event. Check in at 8:30 for a 9 AM start and plan to end the day by 3PM.

  7. Champaign County Precision Ag Day: Planter Technology

    Decisions made at planting time are critical in getting any crop off to the best possible start. The technology and agronomic research we have today can help farmers maximize planter performance for optimal crop yields. Join OSU Extension and Champaign County Farm Bureau on August 26 for the second annual Precision Ag Day. This year the focus will be on planter technology.

  8. FSR Agronomy College is September 13

    Agronomists , CCAs and custom applicators are invited to the Farm Science Review Agronomy College, hosted by the Ohio AgriBusiness Association in partnership with Ohio State University Extension and the Farm Science Review staff. The program will bring industry experts, OSU researchers, and agronomy service providers together to enhance collective knowledge and learning at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in London, Ohio, on Sept. 13 - one week before the start of the annual three-day farm show.

  9. Field Day for Fertilizer Applicator Certification

    A field day being held on July 28, Northwest Agricultural Research Station, OARDC, 4240 Range Line Rd. Custar, OH is targeted for those who utilize fertilizer and manure in crop production. Preregistration is due by July 22. Credits offered during the day include Agricultural Fertilizer Applicator Certification and Certified Livestock Manager credits. The programs begin at 9 am and finish by 2:30 pm. Pre-registration is required, with a $15 registration fee that covers lunch. Payment can be made with credit card.

  10. Reminder –Western Agricultural Research Station to have Two Field Days Next Week

    One of the premier agronomic research stations of Ohio State University and OARDC, the Western Agricultural Research Branch, will be having two field days next week. Local equipment suppliers will be on-hand with in-field demonstrations for both events.

     

    Producers and industry agronomists are invited to attend the Western ARS Agronomy Field Day, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 – 9AM to 3:15PM. This event will cover crop production, weed management, and pest control issues of 2016.
